Do you have fights or periods of silence with your partner, that just don’t seem to make sense? Have you experienced a decrease in intimacy? Or do you just want to explore the intricacies of your relationship a bit more deeply in order to build on the good things that are already happening? We are gaining new information almost daily from science on how the body and brain affect our relationships at every level. People are particularly surprised by the way they change when they feel hurt or betrayed by their lover. They go into a full “fight-or-flight response” and useful discussion seems impossible. Dr. Ferguson will discuss the basic principles of how these systems and defenses work and how partners can better manage them to build greater trust, intimacy and passion. We will explore specific tips that partners can implement immediately.
